5 Ways To Survive The World Cup Mania When You’re A Non-Fan

Got a friend or family member who is keeping you up all night because of the World Cup? If you don’t want to join them, then here are a few ways you can beat ‘em! And while you’re at it, you might as well help him/her cope with their post-match blues too.

Ear plugs
There probably are no better, fuss-free way to block out the noise than good ‘ole ear plugs. Of course, it’s not 100% foolproof but it’s a good start to help you fall asleep.

Listen to music
Go into your room, put in your ear phones and play some of your best night time tunes. There are tons of playlists on the web that are perfect for falling asleep. And while most would choose soothing songs, I personally prefer to listen to kpop and some mpop songs where some are pretty rock.^,^"

Start Eating Healthier
If you get forced to watch a match with your soccer -fanatic other half, chances are it’s going to be at some odd unearthly hour like 3 a.m. As far as possible, stay away from the caffeine overload when you get to work. It might keep you up for a while but the post-caffeine crashes and dehydration just aren’t worth it. Instead, load up on low-glycemic index foods such as whole grains, vegetables and some fruits. Complement your diet with all-natural supplements such as BRAND’S® Essence of Chicken to increase mental concentration, metabolic rates, and boosts energy.

Use Cold Water
Lost the sleep battle to the crazy cheers and shouts of the football mania? It’s time for the classic cold water treatment! Start the day with a cold bath if possible, or at least with water that isn’t too warm so it doesn’t lull you back to sleep. Whenever you find your eyes shutting at work, head to the washroom to splash cold water on your face. In fact, try keeping your eyes open as you splash water on your face, without hurting them. (O_O)~

Do Simple Exercise
Exercise are always a great way to get your blood pumping. Of course, you are not expected to do elaborate routines at work but take short 10 minute breaks to do simple exercises such as stretching your wrists, arms and legs and rolling your shoulders and head.

For the Fans
And for the World Cup fans, you can try these methods to keep yourself awake! ^_^

Fan or not, I hope this post has been helpful in your bid to survive the football mania!
